    Happy 1st Birthday Sophia

My beautiful little girl turned 1 today. I can not believe how fast a year has flown by. It seems just like yesterday that I bought her home from the hospital and now she is this little ray of sunshine with the most gorgeous smile that lights up our lives everyday.

I thought I would share with you some of the things I have made for her birthday:

First here is the birthday girl opening presents

    and eating cake!

Next are her party invitations for her party on Saturday:

She is having a Butterfly theme - complete with a yummy butterfly birthday cake and party bags!

Here is her Birthday card with some of her presents. I wrapped her presents in some of her Big Brother’s paintings from Kindy. He was so excited to help me wrap them and declared “I think Sophia is going to love them!”

One of the things we bought her was a pair of shoes. Sophiastarted walking a few weeks a go so I though she needed a pair of shoes. She was so cute at the shoe shop smiling at the lady as she ,measured her feet. As soon as I put her down on the floor she looked down at her feet, squealed and took off out of the shop with her new shoes. Needless to say I bought them - they are soooooo cute all pink and glittery!

Every Sunday Night I look forward to 8:30pm to get my weekly dose of the TV series Underbelly. Now I don’t know if it was the dark seedy content of this week’s episode or the fact that I needed to make some male birthday cards, but while watching this week’s episode I manage to make 6 male birthday cards. (3 designs 2 of each).

I went for the colour combo of Basic Black, Basic Grey and Going Grey. I am quite pleased with how they turned out and they will be put to use next month when we have about 5 male birthdays in our family.

Here is a close up of each of the cards:

If you have ever wondered where I get my creativeness from I happy to say it is something that I inherited from my Mum. Mum was always creating while I was growing up, she is an excellent sewer, quilter, cake decorator and paper craft-er. Her scrapbook pages are a piece of ART and she always makes the most beautiful birthday cards completed with personalised verses inside.

Look at the Beautiful Birthday card and matching gift card holder she made me.

The gift card holder actually had some money in it for me to spend at Convention.

    Love you MUM!!

Believe it or not my husband and I share the same birthday (this Monday) and like most people I struggle making male cards.

I wanted to make Michael a card for his birthday on Monday and I knew exactly what set I wanted to use - Card Night. Michael is a huge Poker fan. He and a group of friends get together every Sunday night to play Poker so I thought that this set would be very appropriate.

Here is what I came up with:

I quite like these colours together - Kraft, Basic Black and Real Red.

You cannot really see but I used my Big Shot and embossed the black card on the bottom with the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

Anyhow Happy Birthday Michael! Love you heaps

I recently found this great little Tea bag Holder while surfing the net for some inspiration. I found this one here on Nichole Heady’s blog, however as you can see I have changed it slightly to suit my needs.

This cute little card could hold, tea, coffee, hot chocolate or anything you like.

I have put 2 coffee bags in this one as the person I am giving it to loves a good cup of coffee just like me. Sadly we don’t get to have one together very often due to family commitments so I thought it would be nice to give her a couple of coffee bags for her to enjoy and think of me when she has the time.

When you open the holder up there is space where you can write  your message. I have added the same Circle Circus Embellishment as on the front.

Here are a couple more examples I have made:

As soon as  I saw this project on Madonna Dunn’ssite during ESAD_SU’s recent Sale-a-Bration Blog Hop, I just knew that I had to make one.

Of course I had to “pink” mine and surprise, surprise I have once again used some Candy lane DSP.

I think this is such a great gift idea. It it file folder that holds 6 cards and their envelopes on 1 side, while on the other side there is a little pocket that contains 6 stamped greetings all ready to add to the front of the card.

This way the person you give this to can pick and choose which greeting they would like to put on the front of their card.

This way the person you give this to can pick and choose which greeting they would like to put on the front of their card.

I have used some of my Flower Fusion Too stash as well as a variety of Stampin’ Up! brads to create the flowers on the front of each card.

You could easily change the colour scheme as I have done to make a beautiful gift set to give to someone special in your life.

Thanks Madonna for a lovely idea!!!

I recently entered some cards in a ESAD-SU (Stampin’Up! Demonstartor Group) Challenge. You had to make a baby card suitable for a BOY and then copy it and make 1 for a GIRL.

    Here is my first attempt:

I used the Hippo from the Pun Fun Stamp Set. I think it is sooo cute.

Next I used the Nursery Necessities Stamp Set

Now I must confess I purchased this stamp when I found out I was pregnant with Sophia and it has sat unmounted in my draw until now. (Must have really needed it!!! Ha ha)

    Here is my boy version:

    My girl version:

    and my gender neutral version:

Finally  I made another one using the Duck from the Wagon Full of Fun Set out of the new Summer Mini:

    My Boy Card:

    and my Girl Card:

Now all I need is some of my family and friends to have a baby or two so I can give them one of my newly made Baby Cards!

I just wanted to share with you the Birthday card I made for my sister last week.

She is such a fashion guru and I knew that she would get a kick out of this cute little dress.

The design of the dress was based on one from Petronela Hardy that was demonstrated to us at the Stampin’ Up! Brisbane Regionals.

My gorgeous boy just loves to stamp! I guess this is an occupational hazard from being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and him seeing me stamp all the time.

Anyway it is his best friend’s birthday tomorrow and Archie wanted to make Joel some paper and a card. Both Archie and Joel are the hugest Thomas the Tank fans so of course we had to use the Choo coo set from the Spring Mini. I think Archie has used this set more than me (LOL).

He is very good and even knows to clean each stamp before choosing another colour. He just loves to use Stampin’ scrub and stampin’ mist!!!

    The master hard at work

The Finished present all wrapped up and ready to go!

Don’t you just love the card he made as well. Just a little bit of ink on his arm …

All this was done while his little sister had her morning nap. What a great Mother and son time.

    Thanks for letting me share

We had Sophia’s Baptism on last Sunday, so I thought that I would share with you the invites and matching candle I made for part of the service.

I used my favourite paper from the Candy Lane DSP pack and teamed it up with

Riding-hood Red and Pink Pirouette Card stock.

Here is a photo of Sophis in her Beautiful gown and bonnet that my mother made for her:

        and a family photo!

And lastly here is photo of the very yummy chocolate and raspberry Cake my best friend and Sophia’s Godmother made for the party afterwards

and yes folks it tasted as good as it looked!

Lastly my beautiful boy, Archie started Kindy (Pre-Prep) this week. He has grown up so fast and was very excited to be going to his big Boy Kindy. I thought I would share with you a photo

of him in his new Kindy shirt, hat and Back pack.

I hope you enjoyed my family news, Happy Stamping
