I am embarrassed to say but I have had this paint tin sitting on my desk for over a year now waiting for me to decorate it.

When I saw it at the shops I thought it would be perfect for me to take with me to workshops to use to draw out the Lucky Door Prize. Needless to say I kept forgetting to take something to my workshops and always had to ask the host for some kind of container.

Not anymore. look at my beautiful door Prize tin now.

I can not wait to do a Workshop, so I can show off my Door Prize Tin. I used paper from the Candy Lane DSP pack as well as some Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette 5/8 striped Grosgrain Ribbon. The “L” is from my newest stamp aquistion - Lovely Letters and I just love it. I have been adding the initials of all my friends and family to their cards and little gifts and it just adds that personal touch.

Anyhow I hope you like my tin!

The day before I had Sophia I found this fantastic little box and a tutorial on how to make them on Marelle Taylor’s site.

They are so cute and super easy to make. They are the perfect size to fit in a little gift or some yummy chocolates.

The first 2 boxes I decorated with stamps, while the second 2 I used some pieces of DSP to decorate. I love the look of both types.

The first one I made using Pretty in Pink card and stamping the 1 of the flowers from Fifth Avenue in both Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. I punch out 1 3/8 circle and attached a piece of acetate behind it to create a little window. On the outside I glued a Scallop Circle that I punched out of Regal Rose card. To finish it off I attached a piece of Regal Rose Ribbon and a little gift tag.

With father’s day coming I thought I would make a male version. I stamped a piece of Whisper White card stock with stamps from the Games Night Set in Basic Black and Real Red. Again I punched out a window in the front, this time using the curly Label Punch. I tied it with Real Red wide Grosgrain ribbon and attached a little gift card to the top.

The next one I made for a friend of mine who is celebrating a very special birthday (the BIG 4 - 0) in a week’s time. I have bought her a Pandora charm to put inside the box and made a matching card and chocolate pull out pouch. I have used the beautiful Parisian Breeze Specialty paper from the new Spring mini and of course teamed it up with one of my new favourite stamp sets, A Good Friend.

The last one I made was to co-ordinate with the card I recently cased from the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalogue on page 125.  I love these colours together (Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and More Mustard) and always wanted to make the card as soon as I saw it in the catalogue. It only took me 6 months to get around to it (LOL). I think the make a perfect little matching set.

I hope you like them and make sure you pop onto Marelle’s site and see how to make some of these cute little boxes for yourself.

It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to our newest family member.

    Our daughter Sophia Alexandra

She arrived on  Wednesday 19.08.09 at 4.50pm weighing in 7lbs exactly.

I know that I am completly bias, but she is the most beautiful little angel I have ever laid eyes on.

    Proud Mum and Dad

    Very proud Big brother, Archie

Thankyou to everyone for their well wishes and here is hoping she does not get in the way of too much stamping. (hee hee!)

This is a card I made recently using my new toy called the Circle scissors. It allows you to cut out the perfect circle of any size from   to.

I decided I wanted to case the card on page 7 of the new Spring Mini Catalogue, but like always it does not always end up looking the same. I  really love this colour combo ( Pretty in pink, Baja Breeze and Basic Grey) and since the new Mini catalogue has come out I have been using it a lot as it features strongly in the Walk in the Park DSP.

Speaking of Circles I wanted to share with you this beautiful card made by my friend and downline Louise Sutton. As soon as she showed it to me , I said I would love a copy and she dutifully created one for me. WOW! You can check out more of Louise’s work here.

I am trying to get myself organised before our new baby arrives at the end of the month by making all the cards I need for the months of August, September and October. These three months are quite busy for us with 9 birthdays, Father’s day and the expectant arrival of 2 babies as well as our own.

I sat down yesterday to start on a few and after choosing a layout for my first card, thought I would duplicate it to make 3 more.

Even though I have used the same layout the cards look very different as I have used different colours and different stamp sets.

The first card I made was this Baby Girl card for my DS’s Daycare teacher who has just had a baby girl:

I then copied it to make a Baby Boy version as well as a second card for our friends who are expected babies in the next 2 months. I have used the cute little hippo from the pun Fun Stamp Set. This is not a stamp Set I have used very much, but I am starting to love it. By omitting the words on the bottom of the stamps they become quite versitile. I can see I will be using this set a little more in the future.

The next card is for one of the males in our family celebrating a Birthday. I have used the Beer glass from the Cheers to You Stamp Set.

Finally this last card is for my nephew who will be turning 4 in October. I have used the Rocket Stamp from the Pun Fun Stamp Set and added some Dazzling Diamonds for an Outer Space theme.

I hope you have enjoyed them and until next time Happy Stamping

Here is another card I have made using the beautiful Walk in the Park DSP from the Spring Mini Catalogue.

I have stamped the En Francias Background stamp onto Baja Breeze Cardstock with Baja Breeze Ink.

I have mounted the DSP onto Basic Grey Card stock which I have scalloped at one end using the Scallop Edge Punch.

I have sponged around the edges of the DSP with Pretty in Pink Ink.

I have jazzed the card up by adding some bling from the Pretties Kit.

And of course once again I have used the Scalloped Oval punch and co-ordinating Stamp Set Oval All (both available from the Spring Mini) to add a sentiment to my card.

    I hope you like it!

After having a go at my first One sheet wonder (see previous post Wild About You), I decided I would like to make another one but this time with a girly theme.

I used the Bugs and Kisses Stamp Set and have once again made a set of 9 girls’s Birthday Cards. I find that this is a fantastic way to show my customers how versitile one stamp set can be.

The colours that I used to create my cards are:

Rose Red, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip.

The first thing you do is stamp up your sheet of plain card stock . In this case I used and A4 sheet of Whisper White:

Then following the cutting guide I made, I cut up the sheet as follows to make 9 individual cards.

After cutting the sheet into pieces you may notice that you have some spaces or blanks, this is where the little ant and lady beetle came in handy as they were small enough to ink up and fill in the spaces with.

Next I created my cards. I have photographed them in groups of 3.

    Cards 1, 2, 3

    Cards 4, 5, 6

    Cards 7, 8, 9

Finally I made a Tote Bag using the Tutorial on Liam Pucher’s Site under Tutorial for pocket tote bag my version!. You can find it here.

It holds all 9 cards and their envelopes.

I just love making these matching sets of cards. I give my background stamps and different punches a real workout and I enjoy creating different card ideas with the same theme in mind.

I hope you enjoyed looking at them

    Until next time Happy Stamping

I hope by now you have all seen a copy of Stampin’ Up!’s new Spring Mini Catalogue.

Isn’t it just beautiful and full of fantastic products? Have you picked out your favourite yet.

If you are like me you will have many favourites, that is why I am a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, so i do not have to pay full price and I can afford to get lots and lots of things instead of just a few.

I really like the new Parisian Breeze Speciality paper and have been using it to make cards and 3D items. It is so beautiful and I just love that it is thick like card stock.

Here are a couple of cards I have made:

For this first card I have used Kraft, Baja Breeze, Chocolate chip and Whisper White Cardstock. I have Stamped the sentiment with Baja Breeze and used both the Large oval and Scallop Oval Punch. I have used some Kraft Taffeta ribbon and a half pearl from the Pretties kit.

My second card was created with the help of my Fantastic Upline and Good friend Steph. Again I have used Baja Breeze and Chocolate chip Card stock, Baja Breeze ink and Kraft taffeta Ribbon. I have used the new Oval All stamp Set for the sentiment and the Fancy Flower Set for the main image.

I cased this card from the lovely Karen Thomas. I love visiting her Blog. I always find inspiration from her work. You can see her fantastic creations here.

This is a tissue and Chapstick Holder I have made using the paper

and one of my favourites is this Chocolate Pull out Pouch. You can easily change the dimensions to fit any chocolate bar. I have used a yummy Cadbury Timeout Bar for this one:

            Pull-out View:

I hope you too have fallen in love with the Parisian Breeze speciality DSP.

You would have seen this cute little box on my blog before. I just love it. It makes the perfect gift. It fits a small box of Lindt Chocolates and a set of Love Notes inside.

I have used the new Walk in the Park DSP and matching Stamp Set called Great Friend. As well as the fantastic New Scallop Oval Punch and its matching Stamp set called Oval All. Oh how I love that punch!

I am very pleased with how it has turned out. I hope you like it too!
